Canal Roots

If you had ancestors, who worked on the canals with in the last 200 years, these routes would have been very familiar to them. Here is an opportunity to experience the journey, see the sights and enjoy a carefree day away from it all.

Of course some of the roads and bridges won’t have been there, but the canals, locks and swing bridges, although now mainly operated by the push of a button still function and would be instantly recognisable to the people who operated them in the 19th century
